In addition to information and networking sessions, we aim to provide high potential candidates with the opportunity to connect with consultants who can mentor them through the recruitment process and beyond. Through short one-on-one coffee chats, we hope to provide pre-screened high potential candidates with a chance to build a strong relationship with consultants from our partner firms.

As our first event of the year, the SCC Premiere will serve as an introduction to the world of consulting. Members will have the opportunity to listen to a panel of established consultants as they discuss the consulting role, what to expect on a day-to-day basis, essential industry skills and tips on how to stand out during the recruitment process. In this detailed development program, members will have the chance to learn about the consulting recruitment process with an introduction to case interviews. Hosted by a student who has successfully gone through the consulting recruitment process, this program will detail the key elements of securing an interview and delivering strong behavioural and case interview performances.

Our resume and cover letter workshop will educate students on the proper techniques and strategies to best employ their resume and cover letters in order to maximize their effectiveness. This event includes a resume screen by the SCC executive team and corresponding recommendations.

SCC  has introduced practice interview questions ranging from easy to answer and very difficult. This workshop will go over the strategy to use when answering questions during an interview. Although it will be catered towards consulting interviews, the information and tips provided at this workshop can easily be applied to every industry.

INTRO TO NETWORKING

Hosted by students and recent graduates who have successfully gone through the recruitment process, this session will cover topics such as communication skills, building valuable relationships, and how to leverage connections. This workshop is designed for students who want to learn more about the “art” of networking and concludes with a networking session for students to directly reinforce their newfound knowledge.

Giving effective presentations is an essential skill for any business student. Our Deck Building workshop will detail some tips and tricks on formatting and structure used to put together informative visual presentations.
