PREMIERE

As our first event of the year, the SCC Premiere will serve as an introduction to the world of consulting. Members will have the opportunity to listen to a panel of established consultants as they discuss the consulting role, what to expect on a day-to-day basis, essential industry skills and tips on how to stand out during the recruitment process. The event will conclude with Q&A and a networking session. Check out our event page!

INTRO TO CONSULTING

TARGET AUDIENCE: ALL STUDENTS

In this detailed development program, members will have the chance to learn about consulting recruitment process with an introduction to case interviews. Hosted by a student who has successfully gone through the consulting recruitment process, this program will detail the key elements of securing an interview and delivering strong behavioural and case interview performances.
Members will have the opportunity to learn about the importance of critical thinking, case analysis, structured storytelling, and relationship building in consulting. Additionally, they will learn how to develop the "professional finesse" needed to break into the industry. Through this program, we aim to prepare our members for the recruitment process and enable them to put their best foot forward.

INTRO TO NETWORKING

VENUE: SCHULICH SCHOOL OF BUSINESS

TARGET AUDIENCE: 1ST AND 2ND YEAR STUDENTS

Hosted by students and recent graduates who have successfully gone through the recruitment process, this session will cover topics such as communication skills, building valuable relationships, and how to leverage connections. This workshop is designed for students who want to learn more about the “art” of networking and concludes with a networking session for students to directly reinforce their newfound knowledge.

SCC ALUMNI CONNECT COFFEE CHATS

VENUE: SCHULICH SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
DATE: NOVEMBER 2017
TARGET AUDIENCE: 3RD AND 4TH YEAR STUDENTS

In addition to information and networking sessions, we aim to provide high potential candidates with the opportunity to connect with consultants who can mentor them through the recruitment process and beyond. Through short one-on-one coffee chats, we hope to provide pre-screened high potential candidates with a chance to build a strong relationship with consultants from our partner firms.

INTENSIVE INTERVIEW PREPARATION

VENUE: SCHULICH SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
DATE: NOVEMBER 2017
TARGET AUDIENCE: 3RD YEAR STUDENTS

Students will have the opportunity to do mock behavioural and case interviews with senior students - who have successfully gone through the process - who will provide constructive criticism for the students moving forward. By helping guide their interview preparations several weeks ahead of recruitment season, students will be able to showcase their best in their consulting interviews.

INDIVIDUAL MOCK INTERVIEWS

VENUE: SCHULICH SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
DATE: NOVEMBER 2017
TARGET AUDIENCE: 3RD YEAR STUDENTS

Students will have the extended opportunity to have 1-on-1 scheduled mock interview sessions with senior students – who have successfully gone through the process – who will provide students with scores and comments on areas to improve before heading into recruitment season.

NETWORKING NIGHTS

VENUE: SCHULICH SCHOOL OF BUSINESS

TARGET AUDIENCE: WILL VARY ON THE GOALS OF THE PARTNERED FIRM

On an ongoing basis, firms are invited to join our members for networking. This will take place on several occasions throughout the year. Firms will have a chance to speak about their company and network with our members, building a relationship over the course of the year.
